We'll Get There! (Making of "The Dancing Partner")

For this latest project we were asked to pick a piece of classic literature and illustrate it as contemporary.  I chose a chilling short story by Jerome K. Jerome (What a name!) that I remembered reading as a youngster: The Dancing Partner

This certainly the most involved project I've undertaken since I've started college.  Also, the most EXCITING!!  I'm not done yet, but I've been enthusiastically entertaining myself and documenting the progress.  Enjoy!

Dimensional sketches.  I grew quite fond of this little couple.

A really fun step was collecting supplies.  A friend of mine introduced me to the junk room in the engineering studio AND to the industrial design dumpster.  Here are my spoils:

I cracked open the telephone and discovered some hot glue daubs.  Now I don't know much about the inner workings of telephones, so correct me if I'm wrong, but I'm assuming that this would be the reason it got trashed.

My collection of hands... Looks kind of gruesome doesn't it?

Now enough procrastination.  Time to get back to it!  Until next time.
Love,
ANNA
