The Leshi -Part 5/7

This is the fifth of a 7-piece series of illustrations that I completed for The Woodland Faerie Trail of Achill Island in Ireland.  They are printed on wooden plaques and scattered throughout fairy houses and lovely, mossy, ivy-ed trees.

The Leshi is a spirit guardian of the forest.  He is a solitary, wily creature.  He is distrustful of and dangerous to humans because of our destructive natures, and will lead hikers and campers astray in the deep woods.  He is half-sized and nearly impossible to see while immobile.

Stay tuned for more Irish fairies!

Branching Out

Here is a step-by-step of a memorial mural I did for someone a little while ago.  It was a fun change of pace to go on-site, paint, step back in satisfaction and then go home.

This tree was designed to have tiny little photographs hanging off of the branches, remembering those family members who have passed on.  I included some classic Celtic designs into the tree swirlys.  Can you find 'em?
