Albino Boy

Albino Boy is very used to being different.  Imagine his amazement to find another wee soul, while strolling in the weeds, that shares such a resemblance to himself.

They've become fast friends.

Fable Fairy

Dusty old libraries everywhere are visited regularly by the Fable Fairies.  Their lingering bodies leave behind a very distinctive, magical smell which ignorant folk will attribute to must.

Moon Bird

Here is a little ink drawing I did for Illustration Friday this week, but I kind of lost track of the theme in the process.  That is the great thing about personal projects.   It doesn't really matter!  :)

Caged Leaf Fairy

Green finch, and linnet bird,
Nightingale, blackbird,
How is it you sing?
How can you jubilate
sitting in cages
never taking wing?
Outside the sky waits
beckoning!
Beckoning!
Just beyond the bars...
How can you remain
staring at the rain
maddened by the stars?
How is it you sing
anything?
Stephen Sondheim

Taking Wing:
The Leaf Fairy's wings are made out of thin wire, protruding from the sculpt.

I cover them with tracing paper, wetted in an acrylic wash, and lots of Elmer's glue.
Check out that luminescence!

Too bad she's stuck in this cage.
