Gentle Moss Monster

I've spent a lot of time driving this summer, to and from art shows.  I drove past this hulking creature 4 times and was utterly charmed.

Process Pic:
Lots of firsts for me, in this guy.  For one, I never really worked with dry moss before.  A lot like frosting: Messy, but it can polish a turd!

Jangle Fairy

This fellow was originally intended to be a smokey, lounging jazz singer, but he got a little bit carried away.  I love it when the characters kind of take control.

Tall House

By no means am I done painting wily, naked, wee folk, but say hello to the new series: Tall houses!  Very excited!

Tattoo Commission

This is the fourth tattoo I've designed, and I really think it's time for me to learn a bit more about the art of tattooing.  Not because I'm thinking about becoming a tattoo artist, but because I feel terrible sending people to them with delicately rendered watercolor designs, not knowing how difficult it is to render particular things in their medium. In any case, this artist did a particularly good job of staying true to my original illustration. (I will link her as soon as I get the deets.)

And while I'm at it, I'll throw in a bonus. This was another tattoo that I did a couple years ago for a distant friend.

 Now remember, kids:

Portrait Commission

As a joke, this family commissions slightly off-putting portraits of each other as children, apparently.  Happy Birthday!
